AUCKLAND
The four quarterfinals, to be played on the weekend of July 21 and 22, mark the move to an open draw following five rounds of regional fixtures to whittle down the 124 entries to just eight.
Cup outsiders Manukau City, who sit near the bottom of the third tier of the Northern League, face the longest trip, flying south to Dunedin take on Southern League leaders Caversham at the Caledonian.
Meanwhile, Dunedin Technical head in the opposite direction for a heavyweight clash against Miramar Rangers in the capital.
Lower Hutt City also head north to face Northern League first division leaders Birkenhead United on Auckland’s North Shore with the locals once again hoping home advantage can help Birkenhead claim a Premier League scalp and extend their best ever cup run.
Finally, Central United and Eastern Suburbs will put their cup pedigree on the line at Central’s Kiwitea Street ground in an Auckland derby. The two clubs share nine Chatham Cup titles between them with Suburbs’ record of five titles bettered by only three clubs in the competition’s 89 year history.
The final of the ASB Chatham Cup is scheduled for August 25.
