Western Springs AFC 11-A-Side Tournament (Over 40’s)
When: 18 September 2010 – kick off 10AM– Captain/Managers meeting 9:15AM @ clubrooms (Rain Date = 19 September 2010)
Venue: Seddon Fields, Westmere (by the Auckland Zoo)
16 teams @ $350 per team (fees)
4 pools of 4
Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Lose = 0 points
Every team guaranteed 4 games
Games 26 mins long (Half-time included) – rolling subs (All 5 subs can roll)– squad maximum 16. Maximum 2 minutes overtime.
FIFA/Standard Rules
Player must turn 40 years of age in calendar year (photo ID maybe required). 3 x players over 35, only two on field at one time.
Managers must submit a team list with birth dates before commencement of tournament.
Players sent-off for a single red card are automatically suspended for next match. Violet conduct will result from player being excluded from tournament.
Yellow Card = 5 minutes in Sinbin.
Players only eligible for finals if they have played a minimum of one pool match.
Teams must:
Have a uniform and shin pads.
Have an alternative strip or bibs, whereby the first team drawn will change for a shirt clash.
Have a good attitude and show respect towards referees who do the job on a voluntary basis or for a very small fee. Apparently Refs are humans as well!!!! J
Pool Play
Top two teams into Cup, Bottom two teams into Plate
If there is equal points, goal difference will come into effect. If goal difference is equal, team whom scored the most goals goes through. If Goals for and against is the same, then check result against each other. If result was a draw then we will have a penalty shoot out to decide on how the tournament will further progress for those teams. Winner of pool match goes through otherwise.
Finals
Straight knock out
If draw at end of normal time – straight to penalties.

Cup winner - $350 Bar Tab + Trophy
Runner up Cup – $200 Bar Tab
Plate Winner - $300 Bar Tab + Plate
Runner up Plate - $150 Bar Tab
All other teams receive $75 Bar also.

Note – Further prizes maybe added at later date (Any Sponsors Welcome).
Also free meal for each player @ end of tournament.
