The Centre of Excellence program is for players aged 10th-12th Grade Boys and 12th Grade Girls.
Two Regional Centre’s of Excellence will operate in North Harbour and Waitakere with 10th Grade Boys, 11th Grade Boys and 12th Grade Boys and Girls.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for one of the regional Centre of Excellence you must be a registered member of one of the US1 Affiliated clubs in that geographical area.
Players will be nominated by their Club to trial for the regional Centre of Excellence. Trials are held at the start of training Block 1.

When does the Centre of Excellence Train:
The Centre of Excellence has two 8 week training blocks per year, with training / games played on Sunday’s.
1. Training Block 1 (School term 2)
Training Block 1 operates for 8 weeks between the end of Aprils School holidays and the start of the July School holidays (School term 2).
2. Training Block 2 (School term 3)
Training Block 2 operates for 8 weeks between the end of the July School holidays and the start of the October School holidays (School term 3).
During the Centre of Excellence Training Blocks all players will be involved in either Intra-Federation (i.e. North Harbour vs. Waitakere) or Inter-Federation (i.e. North Harbour vs. Waikato BOP Football) games days.
Goal Keepers:
All Goal Keepers will be provided with specialist Goal Keeper training.
Weir Rosebowl Tournament 12th Grade Boys and Girls (only):
During the Centre of Excellence Training Blocks, North Harbour (2 x Boys and 2 x Girls teams) and Waitakere (1 x Boys and 1 x Girls teams) teams will be selected to play in the Weir Rose Bowl Tournament. The Weir Rosebowl Tournament will be held in the September/ October School Holidays. In 2009 the tournament will be held in Cambridge.
· Weir Rose Bowl Tournament Information:
The Weir Rose Bowl Tournament is over 50 years old with both past All Whites having their names etched on the trophy. It is an important part of a young footballer’s development as this is the first age group of “true” Representative Football.
