FEDERATION ACADEMY

The Federation Academy will involve players in each defined age group from all United Soccer 1 Affiliated Clubs.

The Federation Academy has two  8 week training blocks per year, with two trainings weekly on Sunday’s and one mid-week training session.

Due to the National Identification Tournament taking part in April, players will enter the start of the Academy program at the end a calendar year (Training Block 1) and will take part in Training Block 2 at the start of the next calendar year leading up to the National Identification Tournament in April.

1.     Training Block 1 (School term 4) 

Training Block 1 operates for 8 weeks between the end of the October School holidays and the start of the Christmas School holidays in December (School term 4).  Click here to view the squads for Nov 2009.

2.     Training Block 2

Training Block 2 operates for 8 weeks between the end of the Christmas School holidays (January/February) and the start of the April School holidays (School term 3).

During the Federation Academy Training Blocks all players will be involved in Inter-Federation (i.e. US1 vs. Waikato BOP Football) games days.

Goal Keepers:

All Goal Keepers will be provided with specialist Goal Keeper training

New Zealand Football National Identification Tournament (National ID):

During the Federation Academy Training Blocks teams will be selected from the Federation Academy to play in the National ID Tournament, which will be held in the April School Holidays.

The National ID Tournament age groups are U14, U15 & U16 Boys and Girls (as at 1st April 2009).
