Referee Courses
NFF offers two entry level courses for aspiring referees. You do not have to complete the Club Based Referee Course to enrol in the Level 1 course.
The Club Based Referee Course
The first of these courses is the Club Based Referee Course which is a 4 hour course aimed at parents, coaches, teachers, students and players and provides a basic understanding of the laws of the game. On completion, you will receive official Club Based Referee Identification and a certificate from New Zealand Football. The cost of this course is $75 incl GST per person which is required to be paid in advance.
All material will be provided.
Training is by video, lecture, examples and discussion.

Register Here- NFF may also run other Club Based Referee Courses during the year if there are sufficient numbers. If you have 8 people or more at your club or school who would like to take this course then we will arrange to run the course at your club or school at a mutually convenient time.

Ian Walker, Referee Development Officer or phone 09 414 3687 and we will look to place you in another course.
The Level 1 Course
The second entry level course we offer is the Level 1 Course and is designed for those who want to become an official referee. Successful completion of this course will allow you to join the Northern Football Federation Referees Group. The course consists of 16 hours training and covers the basic laws of the game, referee movement and positioning, acting as an assistant referee, player management and identification of common fouls. The cost of this course is $100 incl GST per person which must be paid in advance.
